JetPens Pentastic Christmas!

The fine folks at JetPens are teaming up with Pens For Kids for a big Christmas pen drive.  Here are the details:

Help JetPens.com make this Christmas absolutely Pentastic! For every new person that joins the JetPens.com Facebook group from now until December 15, JetPens will ship a pen to children in Africa through Pens for Kids (http://www.pensforkids.com), a US-based nonprofit organization.

In many African countries, the cost of uniforms and school supplies can be huge obstacles to overcome for children who dream of attending school. For families with an average income of $2/ day, pens that dry quickly under the intense sun can be costly purchases. Now you can help put a pen in a child's hand!

How to participate:

1. Join the “JetPens.com” Facebook group. A pen will be donated for every new member who joins from now until 12/15/08.

2. Post a link on your Facebook page to the JetPens.com group telling friends to join!

3. Add this banner to your website, blog, etc. and link to this promotion to spread the word!

4. Email and tell your friends to participate! Our goal is to donate thousands of pens! Help us reach our goal!

If you have been around The Pen Addict for any period of time, you know that JetPens is my favorite pen retailer, and Pens For Kids is my favorite charity, so this is a perfect combination!  I will be adding the banner to the Pens For Kids section of the sidebar, and also attaching it to some of the blog posts to help bring awareness to this great charity drive.

Review: Uni-Ball Jetstream Premier

This pen drives me absolutely batty.  It is really cool looking and I want to like it, but there are too many little things that bother me that keep me from using this pen very much.  The rubber grip looks nice and squishy in the photo, but in reality, it is rather firm and has a slick, almost plastic-like feel.  It was uncomfortable to write with since there was very little give in the grip.  The retractable button was also a huge annoyance.  It functions just fine, but there is little to no click feedback when pressing the button.  It's like you are just depressing a spring and it never clicks into place, despite the fact it is working properly.

All in all, I was pretty disappointed with the Uni-Ball Jetstream Premier.  The Jetstream Sport gives a better performance at a much better price.
