Review: Sailor Gel 0.38mm

Sailor GelThe Sailor Gel is another of the pens sent to me by Pen Addict reader Bryan from Japan, and it may be my favorite of the lot.  The 0.38mm needle tip is very sharp, both in how fine and clean the line is, and in how you will put your eye out if you are not careful.  Normally with a tip this sharp I would be worrying about tearing the paper, but the Sailor Gel just glides across the page.  My only knock on this pen is that the grip gets a little annoying after a while.  The rubber is very hard and unforgiving, and would feel much better if it was softer, or the ridges were not as harsh.  Besides that, this is a great all-around pen that has been up to any task I've thrown at it.
