Sunderland Machine Works MK1 Now Available (Sponsor)

Kickstarter machined pens come and go, but none has seen more use from me over the past few years than the Sunderland MK1.

While it looks simple on the outside, Brad Sunderland packed several unique features in the MK1. First of all, there are no visible threads on the pen barrel. This is accomplished by hiding the cap threading beneath the grip section. It’s so well integrated you wouldn’t know it was there if I didn’t tell you.

Secondly, this is a metal pen that posts, and posts well. This is accomplished by a slight taper in the rear of the barrel combined with a polymer liner inside the cap to prevent metal on metal scratching. The liner also allows the cap to stay firmly in place when writing.

Finally, the clip is machined from a block of stainless steel, not stamped like you will find on other pens. This greatly increases the clip strength while retaining its flexibility and functionality.

The Sunderland MK1 fits all Pilot G2 compatible refills, plus Montblanc’s screw-in refills for their rollerball and fineliner. And did you notice the new barrel colors now available? Red, Blue, Grey, and Orange have all been added to the mix, and they look fantastic.

The MK1 is now available at Sunderland Machine Works and is absolutely worth checking out. My thanks to Sunderland Machine Works for sponsoring The Pen Addict this week.

PIUMA Fountain Pen Now On Kickstarter (Sponsor)

The PIUMA Fountain Pen was built with simplicity in mind. Ensso, the studio behind this creation, has been testing this design for over a year to ensure the delivery of a high-quality writing instrument that will last for generations. I believe they have succeeded.

Aluminum, Brass, and Titanium are the three barrel material choices, each offering a different feel. Aluminum is the lightest, and with its matte black finish, may be the sharpest looking. Brass is the heaviest and will form a natural patina over time, giving it a unique look. The Titanium is the strongest, with a barrel that will hold up anywhere you want to take your pen.

Each pen ships with a Bock stainless steel nib which can be upgraded to Black Polished Steel, Titanium, or 18k Gold, all available in Extra Fine, Medium, and Broad tip sizes.

With several successful Kickstarter campaigns under their belt, Ensso looks to deliver another wonderful writing experience with the PIUMA Fountain Pen. In addition you can get it on Kickstarter at 40% off from the future retail price. My thanks to them for sponsoring The Pen Addict this week.

Anderson Pens Has The Visconti Pen On Your List

If there is a pen that is more tailor-made for the holiday season than the Visconti Homo Sapiens Red Wine Limited Edition I would like to know what it is.

Anderson Pens has this beauty in stock, which features the Visconti 23k Palladium Dreamtouch nib and the wonderfully effective double reservoir power filler. And only 30 of them were made!

Paired with the Visconti Van Gogh 125th Anniversary Pine Trees Fountain Pen, as seen above, makes me wish I had used these for my Christmas cards!

The Van Gogh 125th Anniversary Pens have been a wildly popular release, featuring barrel patterns not found in the regular lineup that match some of Van Gogh’s most famous works. You will find favorites such as Starry Night, Self Portrait In Blue, and the wonderfully yellow Sunflowers.

Each fountain pen from the 125th Anniversary series features rose gold plating throughout the clip, band, and steel nib. Visconti’s classically shaped spring-loaded clip attaches easily to your pocket, and the magnetic cap snaps securely to protect the nib and ink.

The thing about Visconti fountain pens is that they are all so beautiful it is hard to pick just one. Luckily for you, Anderson Pens carries them all, so you can shop and compare all of the models to your hearts content. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

My thanks to Anderson Pens for sponsoring The Pen Addict this week.
