Review: Pilot Hi-Tec-C Cavalier

Pilot_hitecc_3

The Pilot Hi-Tec-C Cavalier is the "professional" looking Hi-Tec-C model.  The pen tip and performance are the same as in the regular Hi-Tec-C model (excellent of course), but the barrel is a huge upgrade from the basic plastic.  It is 100% percent metal from tip to cap, and therefore has a nice weight to it.  The diameter is a bit smaller than the regular Hi-Tec-C models, so I did find it a bit tiring to write with in long stretches, but it is so good looking and performs so well I didn't mind too much.  All in all, this is a great option if you are looking for a bit of a style upgrade from the standard plastic barrel.

One thing to note:  The Cavalier model only takes Cavalier refills, which come in black, blue, and red.  So, if you are hoping to pop your Mandarin Orange or Soda Blue ink cartridge in this barrel, you are out of luck.

First Pen For Kids Shipment

Pilot_hitecc_3

It took me a little longer than I had planned to get this shipment out, but my first check and box of pens are on their way to Pens For Kids.  The check is in the amount of $50.00, and there are approximately 200 pens in the box.  I think I scraped up 100 pens from my storage, and then I found 100 Paper Mate pens at Office Depot that I threw in the box as well.

I know there are many new readers of this blog, so if you are interested in the backstory of Pens For Kids, please read this post if you get the chance:  Charitable Cause - Pens For Kids.

Big thanks to everyone who reads The Pen Addict for helping to make this possible.

New Template - Old School

Yesterday, you got a taste of the Sorbet Aqua theme, which I have to admit I like a lot, but I still want to do more testing.  So today, I bring you Old School, which is named for obvious reasons.  One big addition is a custom banner by my fried Kata, which is just too cool for school.  What do the masses think of this layout and design?

Update:  Kata redid the banner - love it!
