Lamy Safari Winner

Thank you to everyone who tossed their name into the hat for the Lamy Safari giveaway, and thank you to JetPens for providing this very cool pen.  The number of entries blew away any other contest I have had here at The Pen Addict, and I am very thankful to everyone.  Random.org decided this morning that comment number 330 was the proud owner of a new shiny black Lamy Safari:

Review: PaperMate Replay Max

PaperMateAside from a few dabblings here and there with Pilot FriXion's, I have pretty much sworn off erasable pens.  They are usually too inconsistent from a writing perspective, don't erase well enough, or more times than not, both of those things.  Unfortunately for the PaperMate Replay Max, it falls into the both of those things category.

I keep threatening to do a bottom five pens post like I have done for the top five, but I just haven't made the time to do it.  If I were to do one tomorrow, I'm pretty sure this pen would be included.  I think it was back in my middle school days when I first used PaperMate's original erasable pen.  It was cool back then, and using this Replay Max reminded me a lot of those days.  That is not a good thing.  I never thought the original erasable pen wrote very well, but I was a kid and who really cares.  I had a PEN, and it ERASES!  I'm only a kid at heart now, and I need my pen to do a lot better job than this one does.  The line is essentially one big skip.  There are so many gaps in my lettering that even Madonna is embarrassed by it.  The barrel is surprisingly comfortable, and the eraser does a good job at what it is supposed to do, but the writing performance is so bad that this pen is almost unusable.

Is there anyone out there that uses an erasable pen on an every day basis?  If so, which model do you use?

Giveaway: Lamy Safari

Lamy Safari

It's time for more giveaway goodness here at The Pen Addict!  This time, I have a beautiful Lamy Safari Shiny Black Body with Chrome Clip and Fine Nib from my good friends at JetPens.  If you have ever used a Lamy Safari before, then you know how nice this pen is.  I am not a big fountain pen guy and I own two of them, mainly because they perform great and are fun to use.  Now is your chance to try your first Lamy Safari, or add another great looking one to your ever growing Safari collection.

Here are the rules:

1. Leave one comment on this post anytime between now, and Thursday night at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.  You are limited to one entry.  Feel free to link this giveaway on your blog, or share it with anyone you feel is a true pen addict.  If you have a blog, I would love a link back, but it is certainly not required for entry into the contest.

2. For this contest, I will pick one winner at random from the comments section of this post.  The comments will be numbered in the order they are received, i.e. the first comment is #1, the second #2, and so on.  The Random Integer Generator at random.org will be used to pick the number of the winner.

3. The contest winner will be posted on Friday, November 20th.  The winner will have one week to email me at the address posted in the right sidebar.

4. I will ship internationally.  I know there are many international readers and fans of The Pen Addict, and I will gladly ship to you at my expense.

Thanks and good luck!
