I shipped out another box of pens plus another check to Pens For Kids yesterday. My kids had fun helping me sort everything out and get them packed up. If you are interested in helping out Pens For Kids, you can find their website right here, and be sure to join their Facebook group.
Review: Kiki James Tuscan Leather Wrap Journal
I wasn't sure exactly what to expect when Kiki James, London approached me (as well as some other bloggers) to review their leather bound journals. Of course, I am willing to try out many different products, but I have never owned a higher-end journal like the ones Kiki James makes, so I don't really have anything to compare this journal with. One thing I can tell you is this - my jaw just about hit the floor when I opened the package.
The first thing I was presented with was the wonderful gift box that the medium Tuscan leather wrap journal was packaged in. If Kiki James is willing to take the time, effort, and expense to package their products this nicely, then I think it is safe to say that the product will be top-notch itself. Upon opening the box, I was excited to find the beautiful natural bridle leather bound journal.
The leather wrap is a great look for a rustic style journal like this. It winds its way around the journal a couple of times, and makes for a tighter closure than I would have imagined. Once unwrapped, you really get a feel for how think the leather cover really is. Because of its newness, the right flap of the leather stands up a bit when opened, but I imagine once the journal gets broken in properly it will lay down nicely. The plain ivory paper in the journal is bound tightly, and while I don't see the exact weight of the paper listed on the website, it feels thick and durable. The page has a bit of tooth to it as well, so it is not dead smooth, but it is a great look for sure. I am hesitant to do any writing samples just yet in it, but the Office Supply Geek manned up and tested his out, so head over to review the results.
For a really nice leather bound journal, I can't imagine a nicer product than what Kiki James has brought to the market. The style and finish of the Tuscan journal are second to none. Huge thanks for Kiki James for sending this product for review.
Big Two-Year Blogiversary Giveaway!!!
November 29th marked the two year anniversary of my first blog post on The Pen Addict, and to celebrate that milestone I wanted to have one of my best giveaways ever. JetPens.com has been a huge part of this blog since its early days, and thanks to them, I am able to give away these great prizes to three lucky readers.
(1) Grand Prize Winner will take home a Zebra Sharbo X multi pen. You can choose your barrel type from any of the ST3, LT3, or F-Line Lady body components, plus you will be able to select two ink cartridges and one pencil cartridge.
(2) First Prize winners will each take home a $25 JetPens gift certificate.
These are some great prizes, so I am going to require a little more than the standard leave a comment rules. Here is what you need to do:
1. Come up with a wish list of items from JetPens.com with a total value in the $25-30 range. Post your wish list in the comments section (links not required), and the reason why you chose what you did, as well as what you plan on using the items for.
2. The comments section will be open for entries from now until Sunday, December 6th at 11:59 EST. At that time, I will select my three favorite comments, choosing one entry for the Grand Prize, and two entries for the First Prize.
3. The winners will be posted no later than Tuesday, December 8th. Each of the winners will have one week to get in touch with me to claim their prize.
Pretty simple, right? Now get going! Feel free to email me directly with any questions.
