Review: Kiki James Tuscan Leather Wrap Journal

Kiki James Journal

I wasn't sure exactly what to expect when Kiki James, London approached me (as well as some other bloggers) to review their leather bound journals.  Of course, I am willing to try out many different products, but I have never owned a higher-end journal like the ones Kiki James makes, so I don't really have anything to compare this journal with.  One thing I can tell you is this - my jaw just about hit the floor when I opened the package.

Kiki James Journal

The first thing I was presented with was the wonderful gift box that the medium Tuscan leather wrap journal was packaged in.  If Kiki James is willing to take the time, effort, and expense to package their products this nicely, then I think it is safe to say that the product will be top-notch itself.  Upon opening the box, I was excited to find the beautiful natural bridle leather bound journal.

The leather wrap is a great look for a rustic style journal like this.  It winds its way around the journal a couple of times, and makes for a tighter closure than I would have imagined.  Once unwrapped, you really get a feel for how think the leather cover really is.  Because of its newness, the right flap of the leather stands up a bit when opened, but I imagine once the journal gets broken in properly it will lay down nicely.

The plain ivory paper in the journal is bound tightly, and while I don't see the exact weight of the paper listed on the website, it feels thick and durable.  The page has a bit of tooth to it as well, so it is not dead smooth, but it is a great look for sure.  I am hesitant to do any writing samples just yet in it, but the Office Supply Geek manned up and tested his out, so head over to review the results.

Kiki James Journal

For a really nice leather bound journal, I can't imagine a nicer product than what Kiki James has brought to the market.  The style and finish of the Tuscan journal are second to none.  Huge thanks for Kiki James for sending this product for review.
