Review: Zebra Sarasa Moi

Zebra Sarasa MoiIn my latest package of pens from Japan, the Zebra Sarasa Moi was the one that people commented the most about, so it was an easy choice to make it the first reviewed.  The most striking part of this pen is - obviously - the barrel.  It is a bright lime green plastic with a large rubber grip area.  The grip is outstanding, providing the right amount of give without being overly squishy.  It came with an 0.5mm black gel ink cartridge, and while is performs well, it is just slightly more scratchy than the ink cartridges I use in my other Sarasa pens.  Fortunately, it is the same model cartridge (Zebra JF), so I can play around with it a bit and find the right ink I want in this killer barrel.

The only real downside I see is that these pens are not readily available to us in the states.  It's good to have friends in Japan!

Review: Uni-Ball Signo RT 0.38mm Light Blue

Uni-Ball Signo RT

I enjoy a good light blue pen, and I love the Uni-Ball Signo RT line, so this pen should be a no-brainer, right?  Close, but no cigar.  The pen writes well enough, but I'm just not getting into the shade of blue.  I like my light blue pens to be bright, but this one leans a bit to the dark side.  Not hideous, but I have several other light blue gel pens I will grab before this one.  I'll keep this handy in the backpack for a while to see if I get into it a little more.  (My original Uni-Ball Signo RT review)

On the other hand, a song I am extremely into right now is "John Allyn Smith Sails" by Okkervil River.  It deals with the life, and more importantly, death of American poet John Berryman.  I had never heard of John Berryman before digging deeper into this song, and the more I read about him, the more I want to read him period.  I am going to have to pick up one of his books before long.  The song doesn't have an official video, but the quality of the concert footage below is pretty decent.  I am also including a link to the lyrics in case you can make our my tiny handwriting - that was a lot of lines!  If you do decide to listen to it, be sure you make it to at least the second half of the song - Will and the gang shift gears towards the end.  Enjoy...

March Giveaway Madness: Copic Multiliner SP Black Ink Pen - 0.35 mm

Copic MultilinerNot only am I starting to get quite a backlog pf pens to review, the number of items I have set aside for giveaway is starting to pile up as well, so March Giveaway Madness starts today!  I will be having at least one giveaway per week for the rest of the month, and possibly more frequent than that if I am feeling frisky.

This giveaway is for the Copic Multiliner SP Black Ink Pen - 0.35 mm model from JetPens.  I have reviewed this pen in the past and loved it, and was very excited when JetPens started carrying them.  The barrel design is a work of art in my mind, and anyone who uses felt tip or plastic tip pens will love these.

The rules are as follows:

1. Leave one comment on this post anytime between now, and Thursday night at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.  You are limited to one entry.  Feel free to link this giveaway on your blog, or share it with anyone you feel is a true pen addict.  If you have a blog, I would love a link back, but it is certainly not required for entry into the contest.

2. For this contest, I will pick one winner at random from the comments section of this post.  The comments will be numbered in the order they are received, i.e. the first comment is #1, the second #2, and so on.  The Random Integer Generator at random.org will be used to pick the number of the winner.

3. The contest winner will be posted on Friday, March 13th.  The winner will have one week to email me at the address posted in the right sidebar.

4. I will ship internationally.  I know there are many international readers and fans of The Pen Addict, and I will gladly ship to you at my expense.

Thanks, and good luck!

Update:  I had an issue with the timestamp for this post, so I just moved it up to current time.  No comments were affected.
